About the subjects:
The College of Energy and Electrical Engineering is equipped with 4 subjects of Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering and Thermal Physics, Control Science and Engineering, and Measurement Technology and Instrumentation, 6 institutes of Automation of Electric Power Systems, Smart Grid, Renewable Energy, Energy and Power, Hydropower Automation, and Power Electronics and Motion Control, a Renewable Energy Generation and Smart Grid Discipline for Talent Recruitment Base (referred to 111 talent recruitment base), and 2 provincial and ministerial teaching and research bases- Renewable Energy Generation Technology Engineering Research Center of Ministry of Education and Hydraulic Metal Structure Safety Monitoring Center of Ministry of Water Resources.
The faculty number of College is more than 110, including 1 winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, 1 distinguished professor, 16 PhD supervisors and 60 professors and associate professors. The college owns a post-doctoral research station of Electrical Engineering, senior subject doctor’s degree authorization point of Electrical Engineering, senior subject master’s degree authorization point of Electrical Engineering, Control Science and Engineering, and Power Engineering and Thermal Physics, secondary subject master’s degree authorization point of Measurement Technology and Instrumentation, as well as full-time and part-time professional master’s degree authorization point of Electrical Engineering and Control Engineering. The college enrolls and trains 7 subjects of academic master, respectively for Electric Power System and Its Automation, High voltage and Insulation Technology, Power Electronics and Electric Drive, Control Theory and Control Engineering, Measurement Technology and Instrumentation, Fluid Machinery and Engineering, as well as an additional autonomous secondary subject-Renewable Energy Science and Engineering. The college now has a total number of 626 PhD candidates and postgraduates.
The college’s scientific research is developing rapidly. In the past five years, the college has hosted and completed over 50 items of various government sponsored researches, won 10 items of ministerial and provincial science and technology progress awards, published more than 600 SCI and EI papers, and gained 150 items of patent application and authorization. The college’s scientific research features on the combination of the strength of electrical and has a great advantage on fields such as power system analysis, power system operation and control, new energy development, hydraulic machinery safe operation, fault diagnosis and testing, hydro-mechanical properties of the inner and the outer flow forecast, hydraulic unit transition process control and simulation, hydraulic metal structure with crane safety research, electromechanical integration, hydropower station automation and smart instrumentation. As a result of active academic atmosphere, the college has established friendly and cooperative relations with dozens well-known domestic and foreign universities, with programs of mutual exchange of visiting scholars, joint training of graduate students, and so on.
